About Us

This is a website about Roman Vinderman (1945-2001) a Russian puppet theater director. It was created as a tribute to his life and work by journalist Maria Simonova, who conducted interviews with his colleagues and friends and his daughter Irina Petrova, who developed the website between 2010-2012. Special thank yous to everyone who gave interviews and shared archival materials for the site, including Olga Brazgina, Lidia Potapova and Lubov Petrova. Materials presented here are a fraction of what exists but we hope it will give you an idea about who Roman Vinderman was and about his work.
